Le site d\u2019\u00e9tude se trouve \u00e0 Yanchi, \u00e0 l\u2019est de la R\u00e9gion Autonome du Ningxia Hui. J&#8217;ai b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de la connaissance du terrain par mes coll\u00e8gues qui y font des suivis de populations dans cette zone depuis quelques ann\u00e9es. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La zone d&#8217;\u00e9tude est un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me steppique caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par un climat froid et sec de type \u00ab\u00a0BSk\u00a0\u00bb avec une faible pluviom\u00e9trie (2-78mm) et des temp\u00e9ratures variant de -8\u00b0C en hiver (d\u00e9cembre) \u00e0 +22\u00b0C en \u00e9t\u00e9 (juillet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-Bh0dE7dfkJA\/WqoGfb_8muI\/AAAAAAAAAic\/Rjl3gbwIXgk3GG3wdVa5bFvyqP4Yh4MlwCLcBGAs\/s1600\/imagesteppe0.png\"><img src=\"https:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-Bh0dE7dfkJA\/WqoGfb_8muI\/AAAAAAAAAic\/Rjl3gbwIXgk3GG3wdVa5bFvyqP4Yh4MlwCLcBGAs\/s640\/imagesteppe0.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces conditions ne permettent pas la croissance des arbres. La zone est ainsi caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par une formation herbac\u00e9e et quelques rares arbustes. La v\u00e9g\u00e9tation est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par les esp\u00e8ces&nbsp;<em>Stipa Spp<\/em>&nbsp;et&nbsp;<em>Allium polyrhizum Turcz. ex Regel<\/em>&nbsp;dans les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes steppiques les plus chauds \u00ab&nbsp;desert steppe&nbsp;\u00bb et par les esp\u00e8ces&nbsp;<em>Stipa sp, Festuca sp, Leymus sp<\/em>&nbsp;et&nbsp;<em>Artemisia sp<\/em>&nbsp;dans les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes steppiques les moins arides de type \u00ab&nbsp;typical steppe&nbsp;\u00bb. Du fait de la fertilit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e des sols de steppes, de plus en plus de terres sont converties en parcelles cultivables dans la zone d\u2019\u00e9tude. La pression de p\u00e2turage dans cette zone est en nette augmentation fragilisant encore plus l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-5WpxdDt8Zac\/WqoHGJo-vYI\/AAAAAAAAAik\/mzM-by_k2wY1VKZYWhT5DjN7N8-iVVobQCLcBGAs\/s1600\/study%2Bsite1.png\"><img src=\"https:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-5WpxdDt8Zac\/WqoHGJo-vYI\/AAAAAAAAAik\/mzM-by_k2wY1VKZYWhT5DjN7N8-iVVobQCLcBGAs\/s640\/study%2Bsite1.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-yICKBcuqBnE\/WqoHGDmLHlI\/AAAAAAAAAio\/giBKJ1Ww2XMnIhKKnrwhnsMqI-lcu_BkwCLcBGAs\/s1600\/study%2Bsite2.png\"><img src=\"https:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-yICKBcuqBnE\/WqoHGDmLHlI\/AAAAAAAAAio\/giBKJ1Ww2XMnIhKKnrwhnsMqI-lcu_BkwCLcBGAs\/s640\/study%2Bsite2.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>La zone subit les effets conjoints du changement climatique et des activit\u00e9s humaines (surp\u00e2turage, cl\u00f4tures, couverture du sol par les panneaux photovolta\u00efques).Mon travail est divis\u00e9 en trois parties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Effet des caract\u00e9ristiques du sol sur les assemblages de col\u00e9opt\u00e8res le long d\u2019un gradient de perturbation anthropique.<\/li><li>Effet de la composition v\u00e9g\u00e9tale sur la diversit\u00e9 des col\u00e9opt\u00e8res<\/li><li>D\u00e9terminants spatiaux et locaux de la dynamique des populations de T\u00e9n\u00e9brionid\u00e9s dans les steppes de Yanchi.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Les points (1) et (2) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 trait\u00e9s et on fait l&#8217;objet de 6 publications dans des revues \u00e0 comit\u00e9 de lecture . Le point (3) est encore en cours (exploitation des donn\u00e9es en cours, articles \u00e0 suivre) et fait l&#8217;objet d&#8217;un financement de la China Postdoctoral Fundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Project plan 2019:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Local and landscape drivers of darkling beetles (Coleoptera:Tenebrionidae) in Yanchi county grasslands, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The new geological age, Anthropocene is marked by the undeniable impact of human activities on ecosystems structure and functioning. Grassland ecosystems are one of the most altered in the world. Insects as well as all wildlife communities in grasslands undergo numerous pressures which impact and modify their habitats. Consequently, ecosystem services provided by insects like dwelling beetles are impeded. It is urgent to investigate factors impacting dwelling beetles to set up sustainable measures for their conservation. Darkling beetles (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) are one of the major orders of dwelling beetles observed in grassland ecosystems. Tenebrionids are mainly detritivores and essential in nutrient recycling. Some species are herbivorous feeding on plants leaves, reproductive organs or roots. They also serve as food for higher trophic level like birds. For these reasons, darkling beetles are of major interest for China grasslands. The goal of this research project is to determine the drivers of Tenebrionids species richness, activity-density and assemblages. We will investigate the effects of local and landscape factors on darkling beetles along a gradient of grazing intensity from north to south of Yanchi county in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The results of this study will improve our understanding of the dynamic, structure and functioning of darkling beetles communities along gradients of disturbances in grasslands.
